Walleyes For Tomorrow Your Support is greatly appreciated and needed! Walleyes For Tomorrow Walleyes for Tomorrow (WFT) was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in 1991. One of the major goals of WFT is water quality and spawning habitat improvement WFT works in cooperation with DNR fisheries biologists. Department personnel suggest projects and WFT then coordinates, supervises and funds those projects selected by the WFT Board of Directors. WFT has aggressively pursued the cooperation of other like-minded organizations and businesses in the effort to accomplish these projects. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of donated funds, manpower and products have been used for habitat construction and reconditioning projects on the Wolf and Fox Rivers, Lake Winnebago and other bodies of water. Marsh habitat on both the Wolf and Fox Rivers has been greatly altered by dikes, ditches, dredgebanks and backfilling. WFT attempts to modify or eliminate those conditions, which have resulted in poor water flow into these marsh areas. Marsh habitat is the most critical component of the riverine habitat and WFT is committed to improving these areas by improving water flow. A considerable amount of effort has been expended forming local chapters that provide the monies necessary to finance projects. Without public participation in the chapter fundraising events, project funding would be impossible. In addition to sportsmen, the tourism industry benefits greatly due to the number of fishing enthusiasts attracted to our area.
